Is Salomon Rondon on his way back to the Premier League? West Ham United have allegedly offered Jordan Hugill and Sam Byram in exchange.

West Ham United have failed with a £10 million bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon despite offering Jordan Hugill and Sam Byram as part of the deal, according to the Daily Star.
The future of the Venezuelan international is up in the air right now with West Brom’s technical director Luke Dowling confirming to the Express and Star this week that The Baggies are planning to cash in this summer.
He added that Newcastle was still a potential destination for Rondon despite the departure of Rafa Benitez on Monday, though it seems unlikely that owner Mike Ashley will spend big on a striker who is due to turn 30 this year.
West Ham appear to have no such qualms about Rondon’s age, however.
The Star claims that Manuel Pellegrini’s side have made a £10 million bid and, in an attempt to kill two birds with one stone, they are willing to offer forgotten men Hugill (below) and Byram to West Brom to sweeten the deal.

Hugill and Byram, who cost West Ham in excess of £10 million combined, failed to make any sort of an impact and claret and blue and spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest respectively.
Rondon, in contrast enjoyed a hugely successful spell with Newcastle during 2018/19 in which he scored a career-best 11 Premier League goals. He’d be a major upgrade on any of the forward’s West Ham could all upon last season and it seems only a matter of time before they increase their initial offer.
