Dwight Gayle struggled for goals in the Premier League with Newcastle United but cannot stop scoring in the Championship with West Bromwich Albion.

Dwight Gayle has shone at West Bromwich Albion since joining on loan from Newcastle United in the summer.
The Baggies’ number 16 has further cemented his reputation as one of the most feared Championship strikers in recent seasons, taking his tally to nine from 12 starts across 2018/19 with an inspired back-heel flick in West Brom’s 4-1 annihilation of Leeds United on Saturday.
But what does his long-term future hold? According to the Chronicle, a return to Newcastle is on the cards.
It is understood that West Brom would struggle to afford a permanent deal for the former Crystal Palace and Peterborough United front man with money tight at The Hawthorns right now. Should West Brom miss out on promotion, their hopes of signing Gayle would be hanging by a thread.
And the report adds that Gayle is open to a second chance at Newcastle, who paid £10 million to bring him to St James’ Park in 2016.

It remains to be seen, however, whether his Newcastle career rests on the future of Salomon Rondon.
The Venezuelan made the move in the opposite direction in the summer and scored his first two Magpies goals, including a stunning header, to inspire the vital victory against Bournemouth on Saturday.
If Newcastle sign Rondon permanently in the summer, will there be any room for Gayle?
