Former West Ham and Croatia manager Slaven Bilic could reportedly return to England with Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion.
Slaven Bilic has suddenly jumped to the front of the queue to take over at West Bromwich Albion after holding talks with the Championship club on Tuesday, according to the Express and Star.
The Baggies have been linked with a whole host of highly-rated coaches since they were knocked out of the play-offs by local rivals Aston Villa at the semi-final stage, including Chris Wilder, Chris Hughton and former Wolfsburg boss Bruno Labbadia.
Few had mentioned Bilic as a potential replacement for Darren Moore, however.
But the Express and Star claim that the 50-year-old could be offered a route back into the game, four months after his ill-fated spell in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad came to an end.
Bilic is reported to have held talks with the West Brom chiefs on Tuesday ahead of what could be a surprise return to English football for a man who had two years in charge of West Ham United between 2015 and 2017.
The affable Bilic, who also had a successful spell with the Croatian national team, led West Ham to seventh in the Premier League during an excellent debut season at Upton Park, beating Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City away from home while accumulating a club-record points tally (62).
