Former Norwich City midfielder Wes Hoolahan has been on trial with West Brom in an attempt to earn a contract with the Championship club.

On Thursday, Darren Moore provided some insight into the situation surrounding Wes Hoolahan.
The gifted Irishman has spent the last week or so on trial with West Bromwich Albion. And the Baggies boss told the Express and Star that a decision would be made on whether to offer him a contract ‘over the next seven days’.
But it seems that things have progressed quickly since Moore faced the press just 24 hours ago.
According to the Irish Independent, negotiations with Hoolahan have advanced rapidly and it is understood that the 36-year-old is now on the verge of signing a short-term deal with West Brom.
The Midland giants could even unveil the former Republic of Ireland international over the weekend.

Hoolahan is a free agent after being released by Norwich City at the end of last season. He started just 14 Championship games for The Canaries in 2017/18, scoring once and providing three assists.
Hoolahan is not the only former Norwich ace who is on West Brom’s radar, however. The experienced Scotland centre-back Russell Martin has also been on trial at the Hawthorns but it is unsure yet whether he will be handed a contract.
