Karl Toko Ekambi can’t stop scoring for Ligue 1 strugglers Angers…and has Premier League interest in the shape of West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.

Alan Pardew has made it clear that signing a striker is his top priority at West Brom, telling The Telegraph recently that his goal-shy side are in need of more ‘firepower’.
It’s a statement that Roy Hodgson could mirror. Though his Crystal Palace side have enjoyed a remarkable revival after failing to score in their opening seven Premier League games of 2017/18, they are still lacking support for Christian Benteke.
And the Belgian himself hasn’t exactly been firing of late, only scoring his first goal of an injury-hit campaign in the 3-0 win away at Leicester City last time out.
But according to L’Equipe both Palace and West Brom have the same target in their sights. The publication states that in-form Angers striker Karl Toko Ekambi has been the subject of enquiries from both Premier League sides.

And his goals tally this season explains why. The Cameroon international has a hugely impressive nine in 16 Ligue 1 starts in an Angers side who are sitting bottom of the table with just three wins to their name.
Toko Ekambi has already outstripped last season’s tally of seven and is enjoying the best season of his career, even if his team-mates are not performing to anywhere near the same level.

A tally and rangy striker who can also play on the left wing, the 25-year-old’s athleticism means he fits the bill for a West Brom or Palace side that seem well suited to playing on the counter attack.
Though Angers will surely do everything in their power to avoid their talisman’s departure. Their survival could depend on whether he stays or goes.
