West Bromwich Albion reportedly have a back-up lined up, Luton Town’s Jack Stacey, after failing to sign Yeovil’s Tom James.

West Bromwich Albion manager Darren Moore is a big fan of two League Two right-backs, according to the Birmingham Mail. And, after missing out on one, he is expected to make a move for the other.
The Baggies were expected to sign Yeovil Town’s Tom James on Thursday but it appears that the move has fallen through at the eleventh hour.
The 22-year-old headed to the Midlands after Yeovil accepted a bid of £400,000, but it is reported that he failed to agree personal terms so will not be playing his football at The Hawthorns next season.
But the Birmingham Mail points out that West Brom already have an alternative lined up – Luton Town’s Jack Stacey.
Like James, Stacey is just 22 and shone in the fourth tier of English football last season. He featured in 41 games as Luton finished second in the table, sealing automatic promotion to League One.

And the report says that West Brom could now make him their top target as Moore looks for competition at right-back. Although the Baggies will allegedly have to pay considerably more for Stacey than they would have done for James (below).
The youngster started his career at Reading before moving to Luton last summer. He is a versatile player capable of playing in midfield, too.
