West Bromwich Albion are still reportedly looking for a new right-back.
West Bromwich Albion were left frustrated on deadline day, as the club failed to bring in a new right-back to provide competition for the injured Allan Nyom.
The Baggies saw a move for Yeovil Town’s Tom James fall through a week ago as the Welshman failed to agree personal terms, and they also missed out on the Rangers captain James Tavernier after seeing a £3 million bid rejected, as reported by TEAMtalk.
But that does not mean West Brom’s hopes of pulling off a signing are over.
They may not be able to make permanent signings but the loan window remains open until the end of the month, so the Chelsea youngster Ola Aina, who has held talks over a move to The Hawthorns according to the Birmingham Mail, remains an option.
As does Martin Cranie.
The 31-year-old has been training with West Brom over the last few weeks and is a free agent after being released by Middlesbrough at the end of last season. He has even featured in a number of the club’s pre-season friendlies.
And the Birmingham Mail reports that Darren Moore could sign Cranie as a stop-gap at right-back. The former England U21 ace would be a cheap and experienced addition, so it is hard to argue against his signing.
