Bruno Labbadia transformed Wolfsburg from Bundesliga strugglers into a Europa League side but could he take West Brom back to the Premier League, too?

West Bromwich Albion are interested in making veteran German Bruno Labbadia their new manager, according to Sport Bild.
The Baggies have been linked with the likes of Danny Cowley, Michael O’Neill and Chris Hughton with the club looking to replace club legend Darren Moore, who was sacked in March. But Labbadia’s name has come straight out of left field given that he has never worked in English football before.
The 53-year-old has spent his entire playing and coaching career in Germany and is established as one of the most reliable tacticians in Bundesliga football.
After spells at Hamburg and Stuttgart, Labbadia took over at Wolfsburg in 2018 with the 2009 Bundesliga champions in genuine danger of relegation.

Labbadia did an incredible job in charge of the Wolves, guiding them to safety via a relegation play-off victory against Holstein Kiel before leading them into the Europa League just 12 months later. Wolfsburg ended the 2018/19 sixth in the Bundesliga thanks to an 8-1 thrashing of Augsburg on the final day.
West Brom will face competition from Hamburg for Labbadia’s signature, however, with the coach set to leave Wolfsburg when his contract expires this summer.
