Denis Suarez played just four Premier League games for Arsenal during an ill-fated loan spell from La Liga champions Barcelona.

Arsenal rejected the chance to sign Denis Suarez during the final few months of Arsene Wenger’s reign before the Spanish midfielder belatedly arrived at The Emirates under Unai Emery, according to Football London.
The 25-year-old has cemented his place in Gunners folklore for all the wrong reasons on the back of a dismal loan spell in North London.
Suarez played just 67 minutes of Premier League football across four substitute appearances and missed the club’s last nine games of the campaign thanks to a groin injury.
Needless to say, Arsenal decided against signing the play-maker permanently for £18 million, instead opting to send Suarez back to parent club Barcelona.

But things could have been different had the one-time Manchester City youngster join Arsenal 12 months earlier. According to Football London, Arsenal, Southampton and Brighton were all offered the chance to sign Suarez on loan from the La Liga champions in January 2018.
Wenger turned him down, however, as he felt the midfielder would struggle to make an impact during just a few months in English football.
While the Frenchman was uncertain, the report adds that his successor Unai Emery jumped at the chance to reunite with his one-time Sevilla star. Yet it seems this is one decision that Wenger got right late in his Arsenal career.
