VVV Venlo full-back Tobias Pachonik has been linked with a move to Premier League strugglers Watford since February 2018.

Watford are once again checking out VVV Venlo’s Tobias Pachonik with a move to Vicarage Road on the cards ahead of the January transfer window, according to ELF Voetbal.

It is no secret that Quique Sanchez Flores is crying out for defensive reinforcements. His Hornets side are bottom of the Premier League table right now and only Norwich City have conceded more than their 20 goals so far.

Neither Kiko Femenia nor Daryl Janmaat, who scored a horrible own goal against Wolves, have convinced this season and both should be looking nervously over their shoulder amid claims that Watford are eyeing a potential replacement.

According to Calciomercato, Watford were interested in signing German right-back Pachonik when he was playing in Italy with Carpi and, 20 months on, the Hertfordshire outfit have been linked again.

The 24-year-old impressed and even scored a goal as VVV were beaten 4-1 by PSV Eindhoven over the weekend, EFL Voetbal claiming that he performed ‘beautifully’ on the right hand side of the defence.

And scouts from Watford were apparently in attendance to make fresh checks on a player they have been keeping an eye on for almost two years now.
