Primeira Liga champion Yacine Brahimi could finally move to the Premier League in the summer with Watford reportedly interested.
Watford are leading the chase to sign Porto winger Yacine Brahimi on a free transfer at the end of this season, according to Calciomercato.
It is no secret that the Algerian international is out of contract at the end of the season, with reigning Primeira Liga champions Porto failing to tie him down at the Estadio do Dragao.
And reports from Italy are claiming that Brahimi’s representatives are contacting other clubs about a potential deal at the end of the season. It is understood that a whole host of Premier League clubs are interested but, as it stands, Watford are the most likely destination.
The high-flying Hornets have pulled off some impressive transfer coups in recent seasons, landing Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Perreyra from Barcelona and Juventus respectively, and Brahimi would be another headline-grabbing deal.
The 28-year-old has already produced nine goals and six assists this season.
The report adds that Brahimi has been offered to Inter Milan but the Nerazzuri are prioritising permanent deals for loanees Mateo Politano and Keita Balde with Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul also a target.
In a potential boost for Watford, Brahimi has already played for one side owned by the Pozzo family, having starred in Spain for Granada.
