Manchester City’s Champions League thorn Maxwel Cornet could be on his way to the Premier League with Watford in the January transfer window.

Lyon must be sick of Premier League clubs.
In the last few months, star men Nabil Fekir, Tanguy Ndombele and Houssem Aouar have been linked with numerous teams from across the Channel and it seems that Maxwel Cornet’s future has suddenly been thrown into doubt, too.
According to the Independent, Watford are keen to bring the speedy winger to England in the January transfer window having been alerted to the fact that he is entering the final two years of his contract.
A 22-year-old forward who plays his international football for the Ivory Coast, Cornet has scored four goals this season, with three of those coming against Manchester City in the Champions League. Lyon left Pep Guardiola’s side stunned, winning 2-1 at The Etihad before drawing 1-1 back in France.

The Independent, however, have added that Lyon would be tempted to cash in on Cornet should Watford be willing to meet his hefty £26 million asking price.
This would make the youngster the Hornets’ record signing, exceeding the £18 million they paid for Andre Gray in 2017.
According to the Sun, however, Javi Gracia’s side could face considerable competition in the shape of AC Milan.
