Could Serie A starlet Riccardo Sottil be one of the signings who brings in a new era at Tottenham Hotspur?

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Fiorentina winger Riccardo Sottil, according to the Express, with a highly-rated forward on their radar heading into the January transfer window.
Spurs have picked up just two points from their last nine Premier League away games and Mauricio Pochettino’s stuttering side were made to pay for their wastefulness yet again as they threw away a one-goal lead to lose at Leicester City on Saturday.
And there is a nagging feeling that this could soon be the end of an era in North London with doubts surrounding the future of Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, not to mention Danny Rose and Hugo Lloris.
Pochettino, then, might have to put the building blocks in place for a new-look Spurs side with Sottil, a 20-year-old right winger, just one player who has caught the eye.

The Express claims that Tottenham are the first Premier League side to show an interest in the Italy U21 youngster and sent scouts to watch Sottil during Sunday’s 2-2 Serie A draw with Atalanta. As luck would have it, the number 11 didn’t get off Vincenzo Montella’s bench in Bergamo.
Sottil is far from the finished product, having made just a handful of first-team appearances for Fiorentina, but Pochettino knows how to turn promising youngsters into established, top-level stars. Just ask Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Harry Winks.
