Premier League giants Spurs and Man City could fight it out to sign Nordin Mukiele from Ligue 1 high-flyers Montpellier this summer.

Only runaway leaders PSG have conceded fewer goals in Ligue 1 this season than Montpellier’s 26.
The 2012 French champions have been one of the surprise packages of the current campaign and have an excellent chance of qualifying for the Europa League – and this largely down to a watertight backline marshalled by the evergreen 40-year-old Hilton.
But while the Brazilian veteran has hogged many a headline this season, his young defensive partner Nordi Mukiele has arguably been even more impressive – despite being half Hilton’s age.

The 20-year-old is the latest dazzling defensive talent to emerge from French football and looks destined for the very top, but could Tottenham Hotspur take him there?
Spurs have been scouring the continent for young defensive talents with Matthijs de Ligt, Jonathan Tah and Benjamin Pavard linked in the last few weeks. So it should be no surprise that they are keeping a close eye on Mukiele too.

Mukiele is a centre-half by trade but can also play at right back so should have the versatility and the wide-ranging skill-set to fit into Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
As reported by Goal in January, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is also a big fan so expect an interesting summer surrounding this rising star from Montpellier.
