Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are reportedly competing to sign Italian international Zaniolo from Serie A outfit Roma.

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a club-record £43 million bid for Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo, according to Tuttosport.
Zaniolo moved to Roma last summer as part of the deal that took Radja Nainggolan to Inter Milan and he has shone at the Stadio Olimpico while the Belgian has endured an injury-hit debut season in blue and black.
The dynamic midfielder, who can also play on the wing, has scored six goals in all competitions and shot to fame with a brace in the Champions League round-of-16 victory over Porto.
And Tuttosport claims that Tottenham are ‘serious’ about bringing Zaniolo to North London. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are even set to make an ‘imminent’ £43 million bid which, if successful, will see the Italian replace Davinson Sanchez as their record signing.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are also interested in the 19-year-old but it seems that Tottenham are ready to break the bank in order to beat the Premier League champions to his sought-after signature.
Zaniolo was handed his debut for the Italian national team in March with manager Roberto Mancini comparing the teenager to Manchester United star Paul Pogba, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport.
