Fulham face a mammoth task keeping Ryan Sessegnon at Craven Cottage with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United reportedly keen.
If Leroy Rosenior is to be believed, Tottenham Hotspur may have already struck a deal with Ryan Sessegnon which will see the Fulham wonder kid move to North London over the summer.
Although there is the not insignificant matter of a transfer fee to be agreed first and foremost. And, as it stands, it appears that capital city rivals Spurs and Fulham are still far apart in their valuation of the 17-year-old wide man.
As reported by the Telegraph, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are willing to pay £35 million to sign Sessegnon, who has a remarkable 13 goals and four assists in 34 Championship starts for Slavisa Jokanovic’s red-hot Cottagers this season.
It is understood that Tottenham believe they are favourites ahead of Manchester United to sign the teenager in a deal that would make him the second most expensive player in the club’s history, after the former Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez.
Fulham, however, rate Sessegnon far higher than £35 million. The Telegraph claims that the West London side would demand £50 million for arguably the most coveted talent in English football.
Fulham have been in sensational form since the turn of the year, with Sessegnon opening the scoring in a 2-0 win against runaway leaders Wolves to make them one of the favourites for automatic promotion. Yet there is a feeling that the Cottagers will be forced to cash in if they miss out on a place in the Premier League come May.
Whether Spurs are willing to offer £15 million more, however, remains to be seen.
