Udinese’s Serie A star Rodrigo De Paul could reportedly be offered a move to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to monitor Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul as Mauricio Pochettino steps up his summer transfer plans, according to Calciomercato.
Spurs have caused a major shock by reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League but their late-season collapse in the Premier League has highlighted a lack of depth in Spurs’ squad; a problem Pochettino will be desperate to solve in the summer.
And Calciomercato claims that De Paul is a target, along with Roma dynamo Nicolo Zaniolo and Real Betis’s prolific midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso.
The 24-year-old Argentina has been playing for Udinese since 2016 and is coming to the end of the best season of his career so far. De Paul, who favours a role on the left wing, has scored nine goals in Serie A, while providing another four assists for his struggling side.
Spurs were linked with De Paul in January, Calciomercato reporting that they were offered the chance to sign the former Valencia youngster for £22 million. And they may be hoping that he is available for a similar fee as they seemingly plot another move for a player who’s arrival would surely raise questions about the future of compatriot Erik Lamela.
The Standard claimed recently that long-serving Lamela, who has suffered with injuries over the last few years, could be available this summer.
