Ajax’s £35m Eredivisie star Van der Beek could reportedly move to the Premier League in January with Tottenham Hotspur allegedly keen.

Ajax may be one of the most historic and proud clubs in European football but they appear to have become something of a feeder club for Tottenham Hotspur in recent years.
Since 2012, Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Davinson Sanchez all swapped Amsterdam for North London, while Toby Alderweireld arrived at Spurs via Atletico Madrid.
In recent transfer windows, plenty of Ajax players have been tipped to follow in the footsteps of Sanchez and co.
According to Calciomercato, Donny Van der Beek is another Ajax starlet on Tottenham’s radar. The report even says that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in pole position to sign the 21-year-old Dutchman in 2019, which bodes well for their hopes of bringing the goal-scoring midfielder to the English capital in the coming months.

The four-time Holland international has become a first-team regular for the Eredivisie giants in the last year or so, scoring 13 goals in 39 games in all competitions for Erik Ten Haag’s side in 2017/18.
It is understood that Ajax will ask for around £35 million for Van der Beek; a fee that would put him second on the list of Tottenham’s most expensive signings behind former teammate Sanchez.
