Carter-Vickers has made just six Championship starts for Swansea City and could reportedly join Wigan Athletic from Spurs instead.
It just hasn’t worked out for Cameron Carter-Vickers at Swansea City.
Since moving to South Wales on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, the centre-back has started just six Championship games with Graham Potter preferring Mike Van der Hoorn and Joe Rodon in his back-line.
And, according to TEAMtalk, Carter-Vickers could now bid farewell to the Liberty Stadium midway through the season.
The report claims that Spurs are now prepared to re-call the 21-year-old and send him on loan to another Championship club in the hope that he would find game time easier to come by.
TEAMtalk state that a number of teams have expressed an interest but Wigan Athletic are understood to be leading the chase as things stand.
Paul Cook’s Latics are 20th in the table and have conceded 41 goals, perhaps highlighting the need for a new centre-back. And Cook could be the ideal manager for Carter-Vickers, given that the affable Scouser has a reputation for getting the best out of the options at his disposal.
Southend-born Carter-Vickers, who has seven caps for the USA national team thanks to his Louisiana-based father, has never made a Premier League appearance under Mauricio Pochettino.
