Alfie Mawson is one of the Premier League’s most promising defenders but will he swap Swansea City for Tottenham Hotspur this summer?

Alfie Mawson remains a man in demand and Swansea City should brace themselves for another raid in the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old has had another impressive season in South Wales and was rewarded with a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad with just a few months to go until the World Cup. And, according to the Times, Mawson’s form has convinced London giants Tottenham to make another move for him at the end of the season.

It is understood that a number of Premier League sides are looking at Mawson, who Swansea signed from Barnsley for just £5 million in the summer of 2016. And Spurs are expected to make a bid for a player who has been one of the most consistent in a rather erratic Swans squad.
It remains to be seen, however, how much Spurs would have to pay for a defender who will be hoping to earn his first senior England cap in a friendly against Holland next Friday.

So a year after Spurs smashed their transfer record to bring in Davinson Sanchez from Ajax, they may be forced to pay big again for another young defender.
