Leicester City looked set to bring Tielemans to the Premier League from Ligue 1 strugglers Monaco but watch out for Tottenham Hotspur.

Leicester City want to bring Youri Tielemans to the Premier League this month but their big-money bid could be hijacked by Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Telegraph.
The Belgian international is expected to leave Ligue 1 strugglers Monaco before this week’s transfer deadline.
Tielemans, who has five goals in 20 games this season, has a strained relationship with the returning manager Leonardo Jardim, who replaced Thierry Henry on Saturday just three months after being sacked by the Principality club.
The Telegraph claims that Leicester were close to signing the 21-year-old on loan until the end of the season.
But, in a dramatic turn of events, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has now given the green light for the North London giants to hijack the bid, with the all-action Tielemans potentially identified as a long-term Mousa Dembele replacement.

Monaco are demanding £20 million for the former Anderlecht star, which could be an absolute steal in today’s inflated market.
And this is not the first time Spurs have been linked. The Mail reported that Tottenham were interested in Tielemans back in 2017 when he was still playing his football in Belgium, though some critics would argue that his progress has plateaud since.
