Leicester City reportedly refused to sell Demarai Gray to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur last summer but Mauricio Pochettino is still interested.

Leicester City were seemingly relieved to bat away interest from Tottenham Hotspur in winger Demarai Gray last summer.

The Mirror claimed in late August that Spurs had tabled a big bid for the England U21 starlet, which was understood to be similar to the £30 million offer that Bournemouth had made to bring Gray to the Vitality Stadium.

And despite making it clear that he was frustrated with a lack of starts at Leicester, the 2016 Premier League champions managed to tie down Gray to a new four-year contract in November.

But that does not mean Tottenham will not attempt to make another move for the one-time Birmingham City prospect at the end of this season.

ESPN claim that Mauricio Pochettino has continued to keep a close eye on Gray, who is once again expected to consider his future at the King Power Stadium after making just 14 Premier League starts in 2017/18.

It is understood that Pochettino wants to enhance his attacking options with talented young forwards with the potential to develop into something special. And a new bid for Gray is being considered in North London.

Chances are Gray would cost around £30 million this summer, with Leicester holding all the cards.

Gray is not the only promising left-sided attacker linked with Tottenham of late, however, with Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Fulham’s 17-year-old EFL Player of the Year Ryan Sessegnon a constant presence in the gossip columns.
