Van de Beek has shone in Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals and he is reportedly a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur will have to dig deep if they want to bring Ajax midfielder Donny Van de Beek to North London this summer.
While Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt and Dusan Tadic have been rightly lauded for their role in Ajax’s stunning run to the semi-finals of the Champions League, Van de Beek has somewhat flown under the radar by comparison.
The 21-year-old midfielder is no less important to Erik Ten Hag’s side, however.
Van de Beek, who has been likened to Manchester United legend Paul Scholes for his ability to make perfectly timed runs into the penalty area, scored his 15th goal of the season with a typically composed finish in Tuesday’s famous 2-1 away win at Juventus in the last eight.
And, like De Jong and De Ligt, Van de Beek could be rewarded with a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Calciomercato reported in February that Tottenham are interested in the five-time Dutch international, but his price-tag has soared on the back of that fabulous performance in Turin.
Calciomercato states that Ajax will now demand £43 million for Van de Beek – a fee that would require Spurs to break their transfer record.
Should Van de Beek make the move to North London, he will follow in the footsteps of fellow Ajax graduates Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez.
