Spurs reportedly want to bring French midfielder Meite to the Premier League from Serie A, potentially as a replacement for Mousa Dembele.

Tottenham Hotspur failed in an attempt to sign Torino midfielder Soualiho Meite this month, according to Gazetta dello Sport.
Spurs are on the verge of going through a second successive transfer window having failed to make a single signing with just two days remaining before February begins.
According to reports in Italy, however, Mauricio Pochettino’s side were interested in bringing the highly-rated Meite to North London.
The 24-year-old Frenchman has enjoyed a fine season in Serie A, scoring twice in 17 starts for Torino while impressing with his energy and skill in the centre of the park.
Meite, who stands at 6ft 2ins, could have been one possible option to replace the China-bound Mousa Dembele.

But Gazetta reports that Torino turned down Tottenham’s offer as they have no interest in letting any of their star players leave midway though the season.
The Italian outfit also rejected Arsenal’s advances for Cameroonian international centre-back Nicolas Nkoulou.
After Dembele’s departure, Spurs’ squad has found itself even more stretched with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli ruled out until March with injuries.
