Andy King swapped Leicester City for Premier League rivals Swansea City on transfer deadline day and could stay at the Liberty Stadium.

It seems that Swansea City are preparing for next season already.

The Mirror claimed last week that the Swans are ready to reward manager Carlos Carvalhal with a new, improved contract after he led them from the bottom of the Premier League to the relative comfort of 14th since being appointed just after Christmas.

The Swans have lost just two of their 15 games under Carvalhal and the former Sheffield Wednesday boss, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, will now surely be kept on at the Liberty barring a dramatic collapse.

And the popular Portuguese could be joined in South Wales next season by Andy King.

The Welsh international joined Swansea from Leicester City on loan late in the January transfer window and has made a positive impression, despite making just three Premier League appearances so far.

And it is understood that Swansea want to sign King, who scored his first goal for the club in the recent 4-1 thrashing of West Ham United, on a permanent basis should they stave off the threat of relegation.

Leicester would demand around £6 million for the long-serving 29-year-old, who was part of their 2016 Premier League title winning squad.

And King could be a sensible addition for Swansea, who could lose Ki Sung-Yeung this summer with the out-of-contract South Korean international attracting interest from AC Milan.
