Swansea City want to raid Premier League rivals Newcastle United for Dwight Gayle while Championship Fulham are keen after Aleksandar Mitrovic’s success.

Swansea City are the Premier League’s lowest goalscorers and understandably are in the market for strikers this summer.
Gayle netted 23 times in 26 starts as Newcastle won the Championship title in 2017 but has found goals far harder to come by in the Premier League. The former Crystal Palace poacher has made 32 top flight appearances but has found the back of the net on just five occasions.

Nonetheless, a Swansea side set to lose Tammy Abraham when his loan spell from Chelsea comes to an end are understood to be keen on bringing Gayle to South Wales. He might not be a prolific goalscorer but he’d offer pace and intelligent movement in attack.
The Sun reports that Championship promotion hopefuls Fulham are also interested in signing the 27-year-old this summer.
The Cottagers made a £15 million bid for Gayle last August, as reported by The Mail, and are understood to be keen on renewing their interest.

Fulham also want to sign fellow Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic (above) on a permanent deal after he netted 12 times in 14 games for the West London club since arriving at Craven Cottage in January.
It remains to be seen, however, whether Newcastle would be willing to let Gayle leave with Mitrovic already up for sale.
