Sean Clare is still on the market after leaving Championship side Sheffield Wednesday though Swansea City, Fulham and Leeds United are reportedly keen

Sean Clare was attracting a lot of interest at the start of the transfer window so few had expected that he would begin the 2018/19 season as a free agent.
The highly-rated 21-year-old rejected the chance to sign a new contract at Sheffield Wednesday when his deal expired at the start of July. According to TEAMtalk, he was set to sign for Aston Villa, only for the club’s financial problems to scupper the deal.
And this looks to have proven costly with a number of other clubs moving ahead of Villa in the pursuit of the excellent Clare.
TEAMtalk is reporting that Leeds United and Fulham, who were linked a few months ago, remain at the front of the queue. But Swansea City are a new name in the frame with the report suggesting that they are one of the clubs who have held talks with the former Gillingham loanee.

Clare made just five Championship appearances for Wednesday in the second half of last season before his campaign was curtailed with injury. But the youngster still had time to show the composure and class in possession that would make him a good fit for Swansea’s style.
Graham Potter’s side have already signed a number of exciting youngsters who impressed in the second tier last season, including Barrie McKay, Joel Asoro and Bersant Celina.
As he is under 23, Wednesday would be due a compensation fee for Clare but that is unlikely to put Swansea off.
