West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City are reportedly hoping to enhance their squads by signing Robert Bauer from Werder Bremen.

West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City and Stoke City were all relegated from the Premier League last season and are now going head-to-head to sign the same Bundesliga full-back.
Bauer, then, is clearly a man in demand. The 23-year-old started just 12 Bundesliga games for Bremen in 2017/18 however and made most of his appearances at centre-half, despite arguably being more comfortable at right-back.

Bauer has been at Werder Bremen since he joined from Ingolstadt in 2016, shortly after he won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics with Germany.
The versatile former Germany U20 ace is more renowned for his defending than the attacking side of his game and would be a replacement for the recently released Glen Johnson should Stoke win the race for his signature.

West Brom could also need a right-back, however, with Craig Dawson expected to depart amid links with a number of Premier League sides.
Swansea, meanwhile, have lacked competition for Kyle Naughton for far too long and there is even less strength in depth now with Angel Rangel no longer around.
