League One Sunderland are reportedly set to sign Jerome Sinclair from Premier League Watford and want Brighton’s Sam Baldock too.

A long list of near misses appears to have made Jack Ross even more determined to bring in a new striker at Sunderland before the transfer window shuts in just over a fortnight’s time.
The Black Cats missed out on Cheltenham Town’s Mo Eisa to Bristol City and a deal for Bradford targetman Charlie Wyke remains up in the air but the Northern Echo claims that there are two new targets on Sunderland’s wish list now.
It is reported that Watford’s former Liverpool prospect Jerome Sinclair is one option. With the Hornets keen for the 21-year-old to get more game time after playing just 29 minutes of Premier League football in 2017/18, a loan move to the Stadium of Light is a possibility.
Sinclair could even be a Sunderland player within the next 24 hours.

The Northern Echo adds that the Wearsiders also have their eye on Brighton’s forgotten man Sam Baldock – and they are willing to match the £1 million bid for a striker also being eyed by Reading.
29-year-old Baldock is a proven goalscorer at League One level. He enjoyed the best season of his career the last time he was in the third tier, netting 24 goals in 45 games for Bristol City in 2013/14.
Ross hopes that the lure of being Sunderland’s main man will tempt Baldock to the North East but there is an acceptance that a deal could be difficult with Reading capable of offering Championship football.
