Championship strugglers Sunderland are allegedly hoping Watford sign Didier Ndong, so they can fund a deal for MK Dons’ Chuks Aneke.

Sunderland went into the January transfer window knowing that they would have to sell the high-earning trio of Didier Ndong, Lamine Kone and Jack Rodwell in order to raise funds for new additions.
But, as things stand, Ndong, Kone and Rodwell are all still Sunderland players. Although manager Chris Coleman is still harbouring hope that he can find a buyer for Ndong at least before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

The Guardian reports that Watford are keen to offer the Gabonese midfielder a fresh start in the Premier League but only want to sign him on loan. Sunderland, for obvious reasons, want a permanent deal in order to recoup much of the £14 million they paid Lorient for Ndong’s signature in the summer of 2016.
And the Guardian adds that Sunderland have already got a replacement in mind if the former Ligue 1 star does finally move to Vicarage Road – MK Dons powerhouse Chuks Aneke.
The 24-year-old former Arsenal youngster has been a shining light in an otherwise poor seasons for the Dons, scoring six times in 13 League One games after returning from an injury which kept him out at the start of the campaign.

A dynamic and athletic midfielder with an eye for the spectacular, Aneke only signed a contract with the club until 2019 back in the summer.
So Sunderland would have to stump up a decent sum to tempt MK Dons into telling a player his former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger once compared to Yaya Toure, as reported by the BBC.
