Sunderland’s League One boss Jack Ross could reunite with his former St Mirren star Morgan with Scottish Premiership champions Celtic listening to offers.
Jack Ross could be about to reunite with Lewis Morgan as Sunderland open talks with Celtic over a potential deal for the Scotland international, according to Sky Sports.
Morgan played under Ross at St Mirren during the 2017/18 campaign, scoring 18 goals and setting up 13 more in all competitions as The Buddies stormed to the Scottish Championship title.
But the gifted winger has struggled for game-time since returning to former club Celtic in a £300,000 deal (BBC), failing to start a single Scottish Premiership game all season.
As a result, Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers is willing to loan the 22-year-old out for the remainder of the current campaign.
And, despite links with a number of rival Scottish Premiership clubs, Sky Sports claimed on Monday that Sunderland have jumped to the front of the queue having entered talks about a short-term deal for Morgan.
The report comes just a few hours after The Express stated that Aberdeen had made a move to bring Morgan to Pittodrie.
But with Sunderland having lost their top scorer Josh Maja to Bordeaux over the weekend, a potentially prolific wide man who Ross knows very well would be a welcome addition.
