Bryan Oviedo has enjoyed a fine season in League One but his time at Jack Ross’s Sunderland could be coming to an end in the January transfer window.

Bryan Oviedo deserves credit for the way he has gone about his business since being priced out of a move away from Sunderland in the summer.
While the likes of Didier Ndong and Papy Djilobodji missed training and forced the club to terminate their contracts, Oviedo has been a picture of professionalism despite being denied the chance to leave the Stadium of Light after successive relegations.
The Costa Rican international, who featured at the World Cup, has impressed in 13 League One games for Jack Ross’ side, assisting three goals from the left.
But, according to the Chronicle, it seems that Oviedo’s departure has merely been delayed. It is understood that Sunderland will be desperate to find the 28-year-old a new club in the January transfer window with his wages simply to be too high for a club in the third tier of English football.

Fortunately, Ross already has a replacement or two up his sleeve. Academy graduate Denver Hume has impressed since forcing his way into the manager’s first-team plans while Ross can also call upon Reece James.
Oviedo moved to Sunderland alongside Everton teammate Darron Gibson in January 2017 for a combined fee of £7.5 million, according to Sky Sports, reuniting with former Toffees’ boss David Moyes.
