Premier League newcomers Cardiff City have been linked with Didier Ndong but he is reportedly in talks to leave Sunderland for Serie A outfit Torino.

Have Sunderland finally found a buyer for their record signing Didier Ndong?

The Black Cats have been desperate to get the £13.6 million midfielder off their books ever since they were relegated to the Championship a year ago but have so far proved unsuccessful.

Ndong was lined up for a move to Watford this summer but, after failing to make a single appearance during a five-month loan spell, they understandably turned down the chance to sign him permanently.

But the Gabonese midfielder could now be on his way to Italy with the Chronicle reporting that Torino have agreed a deal to sign the 23-year-old for a fee of £6.6 million.

There could still be a sting in the tail, however. The report adds that Ndong is struggling to agree personal terms with Torino, who finished ninth in Italy’s top flight last season.

It is understood that the former Lorient powerhouse would prefer to remain in the Premier League, which is a major boost for a Cardiff City side who have been heavily linked with signing Ndong this summer despite his struggles at the Stadium of Light or Vicarage Road.

The ball is now in the Bluebirds’ court. It seems that Ndong would be keen on a move to South Wales, but Sunderland fans could be forgiven if they did not care where he ended up as long as he goes before the transfer window shuts.
