West Ham United are understood to be holding talks with free agent midfielder Jack Wilshere, who recently left Premier League and London rivals Arsenal.

West Ham United appear to have completely changed their approach in the race to sign Jack Wilshere on a free transfer.
The Sun stated last month that the Hammers had only offered a one-year contract to the recently departed Arsenal midfielder due to concerns about his injury record. This is despite the fact that Wilshere featured in more games in 2017/18 (38) than in any season since 2010/11.
As a result, West Ham looked to have ruined their own chances of striking a deal for the England international, with Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce understood to have entered negotiations soon after.

Perhaps this explains why reports suggest that West Ham have altered their approach. The Guardian claims the London side have now offered Wilshere a three-year deal as he enters talks over a potential move to Arsenal’s city rivals.
Surely this will appeal to Wilshere far more than a 12-month deal, which hardly suggested that the gifted midfielder would have the full trust of his new employers.

A three-year contract, however, would allow Wilshere the chance to revive his career in London with the safety net of a few more seasons behind him.
But with an offer on the table from Fenerbahce. too, as reported by the Guardian, it is up to Wilshere to decide which direction he wants to go in.
