Odsonne Edouard joined Scottish Premiership giants Celtic on loan from Ligue 1 powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain last summer and has shone of late.

If Odsonne Edouard wants to stay at Celtic permanently once his loan spell from Paris Saint-Germain comes to an end, he has found form at the perfect time.
The 20-year-old forward has been terrific in the last few weeks, particularly against Old Firm rivals Rangers. Edouard scored a dramatic curling winner in the 3-2 win at Ibrox back in March, and followed that up with two more in a Man of the Match display on Sunday as Celtic cruised to a 5-0 win against their beleaguered Glasgow rivals.
And it seems that display has made up the mind of Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. Sky Sports claims the Bhoys are now hoping to thrash out a deal to keep Edouard at Parkhead, with Rodgers calling the powerful youngster a ‘top talent’.

There had been reports that Edouard would cost around £7 million but, according to French outlet RMC Sport, the former France U19 international will set Celtic back more than was initially claimed.
It is understood that Edouard would command a fee of around £8.8 million, which would make him comfortably the most expensive signing in Celtic’s history.

The club’s current all-time record transfers are John Hartson and Chris Sutton, who both arrived for £6 million. It has been 17 years since Celtic paid that much for a player.
But Edouard should be seen as an investment. Based on his performances this season, he could be worth far more in a year or two.
