Shoya Nakajima’s form in Portugal with Portimonense could earn him a move to Southampton.

The January transfer window cannot come soon enough for a Southampton side that has struggled badly for goals since the start of the season.
The Saints have hit the back of the net just seven times in 11 matches in a dismal run of form that has piled pressure on manager Mark Hughes. So you can imagine that changes will be made in the winter as the South Coast side look to avoid a return to the Championship.
The Mirror (8 November, page 58) reports that Southampton will turn to Japan international left-winger Shoya Nakajima, who plays in Portugal with Portimonense.

The 24-year-old, who plays alongside Saints defender Maya Yoshida at international level, has been in fine form in the opening weeks of this season, with four goals and three assists to his name in nine appearances.
It is understood that Nakajima could cost around £15 million and he would likely fill the gap left by Dusan Tadic, who was surprisingly sold to Eredivisie giants Ajax in the summer despite being Southampton’s creative force over the last few seasons.
