Could Manolo Gabbiadini leave Southampton and the Premier League for a spell in Russia with CSKA or Spartak Moscow in the January transfer window?

Ralph Hasenhuttl knows he has to sell before he can bring new players in at Southampton.
That is according to The Mirror (December 20, page 58). And it is understood that the former RB Leipzig boss is willing to cash in on Manolo Gabbiadini as he aims to build The Saints in his own image.
The Italian striker arrived at St Mary’s from Napoli two years ago for £15 million and, after a dazzling start which included six goals in his first four games, has struggled for consistency.
Gabbiadini has scored just once in 12 Premier League matches this season and already appears to be behind Danny Ings, Charlie Austin and Shane Long in Hasenhuttl’s plans.

But where could the 27-year-old end up? He has been heavily linked with a return to Italy but latest claims from Calciomercato suggests that a move to Russia could be on the cards too.
It is understood that the Moscow giants, CSKA and Spartak, are interested in offering Gabbiadini an escape route out of St Mary’s in the January transfer window though they will have to splash out given that Southampton have no interest in letting the out-of-favour striker leave on loan.
