Southampton’s Manolo Gabbiadini has started one Premier League game this season and has been linked with a return to Serie A via Lazio or AC Milan.
Manolo Gabbiadini appeared to have reignited his stuttering Southampton career when he scored the all-important goal that kept the Saints in the Premier League back in May, firing home a typical poacher’s effort in a 1-0 win away at Swansea City.
But, since then, the Italian has once again struggled to force his way into Mark Hughes’ plans.
The 26-year-old has started just one out of 11 Premier League games this season despite Southampton’s well-documented struggles in front of goal, with Hughes instead persisting with Danny Ings and Charlie Austin.
Reports from Italy in Calciomercato have suggested that Gabbiadini could be on his way back to Serie A in just a few weeks.
It is reported that Southampton could be willing to sell for a fee that would eventually rise to £14 million with Lazio – whose sporting director Igli Tare is a big fan – expected to make another move for the former Bologna talisman in the New Year.
That would see Southampton recoup the fee they paid Napoli in January 2014.
The report adds that Fiorentina, Sampdoria, AC Milan and even a return to Bologna are also options for the out-of-favour Gabbiadini.
