Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell face losing David Turnbull with Premier League side Southampton keen to bring the midfielder to St Mary’s.

David Turnbull has been a rare bright spark in a difficult season for Motherwell. But with his contract due to expire at the end of the season, there could be another problem heading manager Stephen Robinson’s way.
Because, according to ClubCall, the 19-year-old is attracting attention from clubs below the border with Southampton understood to be interested in bringing the midfielder to the Premier League.
The report claims that The Saints have sent scouts to watch Turnbull in action of late and they will surely have been impressed. The teenager, who has represented Scotland at U20 level, has scored four goals and set up three more in all competitions this season.
Understandably, Robinson is desperate to tie Turnbull down to a new deal but a move to St Mary’s should appeal.

With Ralph Hasenhuttl now in charge at Southampton, young players are expected to find themselves at the forefront again with the 51-year-old Austrian renowned for bringing through the next generation during his two year spell at RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
Since the turn of the century, Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw all developed into hugely exciting talents on the south coast.
