A Premier League move is on the cards for Lorient’s Yoane Wissa, who is also a target for Watford and Championship giants West Bromwich Albion.

Prolific Lorient winger Yoane Wissa could be on his way to England, according to Express, with Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Fulham all queuing up.

It is fair to say the Saints have something of a habit when it comes to snapping up exciting young forwards long before they become household names. After all, who on the South Coast had heard of Sadio Mane or Moussa Djenepo before they arrived on English shores?

And there is something distinctly similar to a fresh-faced Mane about Wissa.

With 16 goals in 30 games for Lorient in France, the 23-year-old is at his best when using his searing speed to race in behind the opposition defence before coolly slotting home one-on-one.

Southampton appear to be going back to their roots this summer by signing talented, little-known prospects from all across Europe and Wissa, who has also been linked with Premier League rivals Watford, fits the bill.

Express claims that Championship high-flyers West Brom and Fulham are also in the race for the sprightly forward and their hopes would undoubtedly be boosted by sealing promotion if, or when, the 2019/20 campaign can be completed.

Regardless of West Brom are playing first or second division football next season, it looks inevitable that they will have to dip into the market to replace West Ham loanee Grady Diangana.

And Wissa, a similarly tricky customer who loves to drift in from the left, could be a ready-made successor.
