Three Premier League clubs, Southampton, Everton and AFC Bournemouth, are reportedly interested in Arsenal’s England striker Danny Welbeck.
After four rather frustrating years at Arsenal, it seems that Danny Welbeck is set to bid farewell to the Emirates before the transfer window shuts on Thursday.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from North London all summer. And the Standard reports that Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for Welbeck, who has been informed by new head coach Unai Emery that he is not a crucial part of his first-team plans.
Although there is no shortage of interest in a player who has started just 45 Premier League games for the Gunners since his 2014 move from Manchester United.
It is reported that Welbeck would prefer to remain in England rather than go abroad to the likes of Besiktas. And the Standard is reporting that South Coast neighbours Southampton and Bournemouth are two clubs who could offer him a fresh start, as well as Marco Silva’s Everton.
If fit, Welbeck is a strong and athletic striker blessed with an excellent work ethic and the ability to play out wide if required. He could be a fine addition to a side lower down the table, particularly a Southampton or Everton side who lacked a bit of pace in the final third last season.
Welbeck, who has 16 goals in 40 games for England, is contracted to be an Arsenal player for just one more year. And Goal reported in July that The Gunners would be willing to listen to offers of £16 million.
