La Liga giants Barcelona could sell Paco Alcacer with Premier League strugglers Southampton keen to take him to St Mary’s in the summer transfer window.

Mark Hughes has a big job on his hands keeping Southampton in the Premier League.
The Saints endured a disastrous 3-0 defeat to relegation rivals West Ham United in the Welshman’s first league game in charge, meaning they are 18th in the table with just seven games to go; fixtures that include clashes with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
But if Southampton do stave off the very real threat of relegation, expect them to make Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer a top priority during the summer transfer window as they aim to add some much-needed goal threat to a toothless attack.

The Spanish poacher has started just 18 La Liga games for Barca since his £30 million move from Valencia in 2016. And the Mirror understands that Southampton are long-time admirers of a player who has six goals in just 13 caps for his country.
It is expected that Barcelona will listen to offers as they need to raise some funds after that huge double swoop for Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho in the last two transfer windows.
And the Mirror adds that Manolo Gabbiadini could make way for Alcacer this summer.

Southampton paid Napoli £14 million for the Italian striker in January last year and he enjoyed a dream start, scoring six goals in his first four games in England, including two in the EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester United.
Gabbiadini’s form has slumped dramatically since, however, with the 26-year-old netting just four times in 26 Premier League fixtures in 2017/18.
