Championship-bound Huddersfield Town need to replace Jonas Lossl while Premier League Southampton are also linked with the Serie A goalkeeper.

The race to sign Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski is hotting up, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting that Southampton and Huddersfield Town have joined the chase.

The 21-year-old Pole has long been viewed as one of Europe’s most promising young shot-stoppers and he has only enhanced his burgeoning reputation since joining Empoli on loan from Serie A rivals Fiorentina during the January transfer window.

Dragowski wrote his name into the history books back in April when he made a remarkable 17 saves in a goalless draw against Atalanta. No goalkeeper had made so many saves in a single Serie A game since Opta started collecting the data 15 years ago.

West Ham United have been named as a potential destination for the Poland U21 international over the last few weeks but it seems that Manuel Pellegrini’s side will face competition from Southampton and Huddersfield.

TMW claims that both clubs have made contact with Fiorentina about a potential deal for Dragowski.

He would likely compete with Angus Gunn for a starting place at Southampton while relegated Huddersfield need a new number one after the departure of Denmark shot-stopper Jonas Lossl.
