Simon Mignolet has lost his place at Anfield with Loris Karius now the number one for Premier League giants Liverpool.

With the World Cup just months away, there could hardly be a worse time for Simon Mignolet to lose his place in Liverpool’s starting XI.
The Belgian international has not played a Premier League game for the Reds since the 2-1 win at Burnley on New Year’s Day. And barring that 3-2 FA Cup defeat to West Bromwich Albion, Loris Karius has played every game since for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And, worryingly for Mignolet, the German is getting better by the week. The former Mainz ‘keeper Karius endured a poor debut season at Anfield but, since Klopp publically unveiled him as Liverpool’s first-choice at the start of 2018, he has responded in style with a number of increasingly impressive displays.
This, therefore, has left Mignolet out in the cold.

The former Sunderland shot-stopper, who moved to Liverpool for £9 million back in the summer of 2013 according to the BBC, admitted to the Mirror after last month’s 4-3 Premier League victory against Manchester City that he was far from happy about being dropped and criticised the ‘unhealthy’ goalkeeping situation in Klopp’s side.
And with Sky Sports reporting that Liverpool have entered initial talks with Roma’s Brazil international keeper Alisson Becker, it appears that there is no future at Anfield for Mignolet.
