Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly willing to let Jordan Rhodes join Championship rivals Norwich City

If Norwich City were hoping that they could land Jordan Rhodes on the cheap, think again.
The Sun reported this week that The Canaries were hoping to rectify their relative goalscoring problems by signing a striker proven at Championship level. They want to sign Rhodes on a loan deal from league rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls are indeed willing to loan Rhodes out this summer but would demand £3 million for the privilege. This would see Sheffield Wednesday make back almost half of the club record £8 million fee they paid Middlesbrough for Rhodes back in January 2017.

The Star also points out that the 28-year-old is one of the highest earning players at Hillsborough, meaning that Norwich would need to set aside a decent chunk of their budget to pay his weekly wages.

A deal for Rhodes, then, looks increasingly risky – especially when you consider that he has only scored eight goals in 49 games for the side currently managed by Dutchman Jos Luhukay.
Rhodes did have a prolific record at Blackburn and Huddersfield, however, and it would be foolish to write him off.
