Manchester City will loan out centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, with Sheffield Wednesday expecting to battle a number of Premier League and Championship clubs.

With Tosin Adarabioyo failing to make a single Premier League appearance in Pep Guardiola’s first season at Manchester City, it was expected that the highly-rated academy graduate would be on his way out of the Etihad Stadium in the summer.
Few expected him to perform a dramatic U-turn, however, and commit his contract to City for the next five years in June.
Since then, however, Adarabioyo has continued to find first-team football hard to come by despite injuries to Vincent Kompany and John Stones in recent months.
The 20-year-old has only made three appearances for City all season; two in the EFL Cup and one in the Champions League dead-rubber defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk. And the impending £57 million arrival of Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte is set to push him further down the pecking order.

It is understood that Sheffield Wednesday have already expressed an interest in signing him but are expected to face competition from a number of Premier League and Championship clubs once news of Adarabioyo’s availability gets around.

Wednesday have a concerning lack of depth at centre-half and Adarabioyo would arrive at a club who are waiting with bated breath for both Tom Lees and Joost van Aken to return from injury. It is understood the Owls were among the sides interested in the summer too, when Adarabioyo was expected to become a free agent, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
And signing one of the most highly-rated defenders in England would be considered an impressive coup from Jos Luhukay’s men.
