Britt Assombalonga scored 15 Championship goals for Boro this season but will he play Premier League football with Sheffield United?

Sheffield United are looking to bring in Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga this summer after sealing their long-awaited return to the Premier League, as reported by the Northern Echo.
Chris Wilder’s unfancied Blades finished second behind Norwich City in the Championship table, edging out Leeds United to claim the final automatic promotion position.
As a result, Sheffield United will be playing top flight football for the first time since 2007. And the Northern Echo adds that the Steel City side are set to make a move for Assombalonga as they look to secure a marquee striker signing.
The report adds that they have expressed an interest in the past and will now have the funds to put together a substantial bid, given the riches on offer to Premier League clubs.

It remains to be seen how much Middlesbrough will demand but they would surely look to recoup most if not all of the £15 million club-record fee they paid Nottingham Forest for the striker back in 2017.
Assombalonga scored 30 goals in two seasons at the Riverside but he has never played in the Premier League.
