Hartlepool United are set to lose another talented youngster with Josh Scott nearing a move to Sheffield United, as reported by the Hartlepool Mail.

The North East outfit have already seen coveted defender Luca Murphy join Premier League strugglers Fulham while Connor Rennison, a talented central midfielder, is set to join third tier promotion chasers Barnsley.

The Mail believes that Scott is also on his way out of Victoria Park.

A typical number nine who has been at Hartlepool since the age of 13, he is out of contract in the summer and looks increasingly likely to follow Murphy and Rennison out the exit door.

As a result, Sheffield United are reportedly set to snap Scott up on a free transfer. The Championship side have not yet made an official approach but it is claimed that a deal could be agreed this week.

The Blades are currently in the midst of a fierce battle for promotion to the Premier League. But they slipped out of the automatic promotion positions with a potentially damaging 3-2 home defeat to play-off chasing Bristol City on Saturday.
