Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly offered £23m for AC Milan’s Serie A midfielder Franck Kessie.

AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie rejected a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers because the Premier League outfit failed to meet his wage demands, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Heading into the final days of the transfer window, an Ivory Coast international appeared to emerge as Wolves’ number one target. But it seemed that they were always in an uphill battle to convince Kessie to swap the San Siro for Molineux.
According to Sky Sports, Wolves were struggling to agree personal terms with the powerful enforcer and, by the time the transfer window closed on Thursday, the Black Country faithful were forced to make do with 20-year-old Bayern Munich youngster Meritan Shabani.
And reports from Italy have now shed more light on why Kessie to Wolves was just never going to happen.
First of all, Wolves £23 million bid was well below Milan’s estimations. The seven-time European champions wanted around £10 million more for one of the most promising young players anywhere in Italian football.

Furthermore, Kessie wanted in excess of £70,000 a week in England. Wolves, however, were only willing to pay the former Atalanta starlet around £50,000 a week.
So with neither Kessie nor Milan happy with Wolves’ offer, it is no real surprise that the 22-year-old wasn’t posing in the famous golden shirt on Thursday afternoon.
