Sam Allardyce reportedly wants to return to management with League One Sunderland but has Jack Ross ran out of lives with the Black Cats?

Jack Ross is expected to keep his position as Sunderland manager if and when the club’s takeover goes through, according to the Northern Echo, despite claims suggesting that Sam Allardyce could be on his way back to the Stadium of Light.
Owners Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven have remained stoically supportive of Ross even in the face of rising criticism from some sections of the Sunderland support. The former St Mirren boss led the Black Cats to Wembley twice last season, including the play-off final, but lost both times with many feeling that an experienced and talented squad is performing nowhere near its potential.
And with Donald agreeing to sell his majority stake to MSD Partners, an investment firm which manages technology magnate Michael Dell, the world’s 25th richest man, questions have been asked about Ross’s future.
According to the Sun, 64-year-old Allardyce is circling like a ravenous, oversized vulture as he apparently eyes a return to management with the club he saved from relegation during 2016’s ‘great escape’.

But Ross will stay on, so say the Echo, with Dell expected to decide against a sudden reboot.
“Have I asked about my position? No, is the simple answer to that,” said the straight-talking Scott, who sounds like a man who thinks his position is safe right now.
“I’ll be entirely truthful, I’ve had conversations with them, but I’ve never once asked about my own position.”
